Popular Nigerian Pastor Ebuka Obi Accused of ₦500 Million Fake Miracle Scheme

Popular Nigerian Pastor Ebuka Obi Accused of ₦500 Million Fake Miracle Scheme

A major controversy has erupted around popular Nigerian pastor, Prophet Ebuka Obi, after a viral video exposed an alleged fake miracle at his church. The founder of Zion Prayer Movement Outreach is now at the center of a scandal involving a woman who falsely claimed to have received a ₦500 million breakthrough after his prophecy.

How It Started

During one of his online prayer sessions, Night of Open Heaven, Pastor Obi prophesied that a woman named Loveth would soon receive God’s favor. He assured his congregation that her testimony would serve as proof of the prophecy’s fulfillment.

Weeks later, a woman named Loveth Aluu appeared at his church, claiming that his prophecy had changed her life. She testified that her struggling business suddenly flourished, leading to the purchase of a ₦500 million mansion in Lekki, Lagos. Her emotional testimony, captured on video, had the congregation rejoicing.

She presented a video clip of the mansion as proof, and Pastor Obi, overjoyed, led the congregation in prayers, urging them to claim similar blessings.

The Truth Behind the ‘Miracle’

However, just weeks later, Ms. Aluu was spotted in Enugu, selling bottled water and soft drinks at a small shop. A shocking revelation soon followed—she never bought the mansion.

A real estate firm, Robo Consult, later exposed the fraud, stating that the mansion was still unsold and belonged to them. The company reported Ms. Aluu to the police, leading to her arrest. During an interrogation, she admitted that her testimony at Zion Prayer Movement Outreach was false. She explained that she had only visited the mansion under the pretense of bringing a buyer. While inside, she secretly recorded a video to make it seem like she owned the property.

Pastor Obi Responds

Following the scandal, Pastor Obi defended himself, insisting he had no prior connection to Ms. Aluu. Speaking during his Night of Open Heaven session, he said she was just one of the many people who testify at his ministry daily.

He denied any involvement in staging the miracle and suggested that certain individuals were trying to blackmail him. He also argued that even prophets do not receive revelations all the time.

“No prophet sees everything. Even great prophets in the Bible did not always hear from God,” he said.

Pastor Obi confirmed that his legal team had reported the case to the police and vowed to uncover who was behind the deception.

What’s Next?

With investigations ongoing, the controversy has raised questions about the credibility of miracle testimonies in religious settings. The scandal continues to trend online, with many debating whether Pastor Obi was an innocent victim or knowingly involved.
