Police Smash Kidnapping Rings, Rescue 21 Victims, and Seize N4.8M Ransom—A Huge Win for Security!

The Nigeria Police Force is not here to play! In a major win against crime, officers have rescued 21 kidnapped victims, nabbed some shady criminals, and recovered a whopping N4.8 million in ransom money. Oh, and let’s not forget the stash of illegal firearms they seized in the process. Talk about a power move!

Picture this: A group of innocent people kidnapped along the Takum/Mararaba road in Taraba State. But boom! The police storm in, guns blazing (literally), forcing the kidnappers to ditch their captives and run for their lives. On March 29, 2025, this dramatic rescue directly responded to an abduction in Muji Town.

Sadly, two victims got injured, but they’re getting the best medical care. Oh, and those abandoned vehicles at the scene? The police swooped in and secured them, too. Now that’s what we call a full package operation!

Meanwhile, in Kano, the Anti-Kidnapping Squad flexed its investigative muscles and freed Dr. Muhammad Bello Yushau. He was kidnapped on March 8, but thanks to some top-tier surveillance, the cops tracked down the bad guys and made their move on March 18 and 19.

The culprits? Tukur Lawal (a.k.a Maikudi), Ado Usman, Sanusi Surajo, Habiba Shuaibu, and Ummulkhairi Ibrahim—busted! Along with their arrest, the police recovered a locally made rifle and a fat stack of N4.8 million in ransom cash. Dr. Yushau is back home safe, and these criminals? Well, let’s say they won’t be seeing daylight anytime soon.

As if that wasn’t enough, the Special Tactical Squad (STS) made another solid arrest in Taraba. Enter Kafinta Musa, a notorious player in the kidnapping and armed robbery game. When the police closed in, they found an AK-49 rifle loaded with live rounds. With him behind bars, the police are now hunting down his gang members. One by one, these criminals are falling!

The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, is giving big props to the officers who risked it all for these successful missions. He also reminded everyone that crime-fighting isn’t a solo gig, it’s a team effort.

So, folks, if you see something sketchy, report it! Your info might just be what the police need to bust another gang and keep the streets safe. The battle against crime is on, and the police are coming in strong!
