Our Reforms Will Protect the Interests of Future Generations – Tinubu
Nigeria spent money that belonged to future generations while also fueling the West Coast. It reached a point where planning for our children’s future became nearly impossible. We had to step up and make some tough calls to get things back on track.
When I took office, things were rough rough. The economy was on the brink, and Nigeria could have gone bankrupt if we hadn’t taken immediate action. It wasn’t an easy ride, but with the right policies and collective support, we’ve been able to steady the ship. Today, we’re sitting on a solid foundation, and the results show that our exchange rate is stabilizing, and food prices are gradually decreasing. This Ramadan, many Nigerians have already started feeling the difference.
Economic reforms aren’t just about crunching numbers; they’re about real people and their futures. That’s why we’re pushing forward with initiatives like the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) and the Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation (CREDICORP).
Education is the bedrock of any great nation, and through NELFUND, we are ensuring that students, the most significant demographic, get the financial support they need. No more barriers to education just because of tuition fees!
CREDICORP is another game-changer. Imagine finishing school and needing to buy a car or even a house. Before now, you’d have to cough up the entire cash upfront super rugged, right? But with CREDICORP, young Nigerians can now access credit, making it easier to own assets without breaking the bank. This is also a powerful way to fight corruption because when people have legal access to credit, they won’t need to cut corners.
I appreciate my former colleagues from the National Assembly for recognizing these efforts. Their support and belief in our democratic journey mean a lot. Some leaders lost their way, but we stayed true to our democratic ideals and the right to aspire for greatness. Today, I am living proof that democracy works.
The road ahead is bright, and Nigeria is moving forward. We are not just fixing today’s problems but securing the future for unborn generations. The light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter. Watch this space!
