Nigerian boxer Olanrewaju ‘Success’ Segun tragically passed away after collapsing in the ring during a bout against Ghana’s Jon Mbanugu. The heartbreaking incident happened on Saturday, March 29, at the Bukom Boxing Arena.

Olanrewaju, a former National and West African light-heavyweight champion, was competing in Fight Night 15 of the Ghana Professional Boxing League. He was reportedly leading on points before suddenly losing consciousness in the third round.
According to the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC), spectators witnessed the shocking moment he collapsed. The referee, trainers, and medical personnel rushed to his aid, but despite their urgent efforts, he remained unresponsive. He was taken to Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, where doctors sadly pronounced him dead.

While the official cause of death has yet to be confirmed, early reports suggest he may have suffered cardiac arrest. His sudden passing has sent shockwaves through the boxing community.
