Major Shake-up in Nasarawa: Governor Dissolves Entire Cabinet
In a bold political move, Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule has dissolved his entire cabinet, including the Secretary to the State Government (SSG). This decision, which is being described as a “normal exercise” by his Chief Press Secretary, has raised eyebrows and sparked conversations across the state.
Just days after suspending the chairman and board members of the Nasarawa State Teachers Service Commission over a controversial recruitment scandal, this latest move seems to indicate the governor’s intent to restructure his administration. Ibrahim Addara, the Chief Press Secretary, confirmed that the dissolution involves all state commissioners and the SSG, but other appointed officials remain unaffected.
While the official reason behind the cabinet shake-up hasn’t been revealed yet, it’s being interpreted as a calculated step by the governor to make necessary adjustments and realign his team to better tackle the state’s challenges. Addara noted that this kind of cabinet reshuffling is not unusual in Nasarawa’s political culture. In fact, it follows a similar action back in August 2021.
Could this be a fresh start for Governor Sule’s administration? With a focus on addressing key issues, this reorganisation may be the first step toward the changes Nasarawa has been waiting for.
