EFCC Nabs 37 Suspected Internet Fraudsters in Ilorin
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested 37 individuals suspected of internet fraud in Ilorin, Kwara State. The arrests took place in different locations, including Tanke Oke-Odo, Alao Farm Estate, Yidi Road, and Irewolede.
According to EFCC officials, the first raid on Friday led to the capture of 22 suspects. Later, an additional 15 individuals were apprehended in Tanke Oke-Odo. During the operation, officers seized eight luxury cars, high-end laptops, and smartphones believed to be linked to fraudulent activities.
The Commission’s spokesperson, Dele Oyewole, confirmed that investigations are ongoing. Once completed, the suspects will face charges in court.
This crackdown highlights EFCC’s continued efforts to combat cybercrime and ensure justice is served. Authorities encourage the public to report suspicious activities, reinforcing the fight against financial fraud in Nigeria.
