NSCDC Uncovers Illegal Crude Oil Reservoir in Ondo Forest
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has busted an illegal crude oil reservoir hidden deep in the forest. Yep, you heard that right, oil thieves have been running a sneaky operation, but the law finally caught up with them.
So, here’s the lowdown. This major discovery happened during a joint operation with the Nigeria Army and TANTITA Security Service. The illegal storage site was found in Obe-Akingboye, a remote area in Ilaje Local Government. But guess what? By the time security forces got there, the suspects had already bolted. Talk about a great escape!
The operation, which went down on Sunday around 2:12 PM, exposed a massive crude oil stash. Unfortunately, no arrests were made, but trust me, the authorities aren’t letting this slide. The Ondo State NSCDC boss, Oluyemi Ibiloye, has made it crystal clear that illegal dealings in petroleum products won’t be tolerated. If you’re in the game, it’s time to rethink because the law is coming down hard!
In addition, the NSCDC is doubling down on protecting national assets, especially in the solid minerals sector. With illegal activities like this threatening the economy and the environment, security forces are stepping up their game to keep our resources safe.
This goes to show crime might run, but it definitely can’t hide forever.
