NDLEA Teams Up to Trash Expired Drugs in Jigawa
The National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has joined hands with the Association of Pharmaceutical Chemists to eliminate expired drugs worth over N800,000. Yep, you read that right – expired meds, gone for good. This happened in Gumel Local Government Area, and it’s a big win for public health.
I was at the event in Gumel, and let me tell you, it was inspiring. Alhaji Lawan Ya’u Abdullahi, the Gumel Local Government Council chairman, took the mic and reminded everyone why this matters. He’s all about creating a healthier community and ensuring we all play our part in keeping society safe and thriving. His words hit differently because who doesn’t want to live in a clean and safe environment?
Now, let’s shout out to Malam Bashari Dahiru Gagarawa, the local boss of the Association of Pharmaceutical Chemists. He gave credit where it was due, thanking the state and local governments for their constant backing. He smiled, knowing that healthcare in Jigawa is moving in the right direction.
This whole event felt like a breath of fresh air. It shows that when communities and authorities work together, big things happen. Expired drugs are dangerous, and getting rid of them the right way is a huge step toward better health for everyone.
