24-Hour Power Supply Is Possible in Enugu – MEDL Boss Spills the Tea

Imagine a world where the lights never go off, where your fridge hums happily 24/7, and no one has to yell, “Up NEPA!” Sounds like a dream, right? Well, Dr Ernest Mupwaya, the Managing Director of Manpower Electricity Distribution Limited (MEDL), says it’s totally possible!

I was pretty pumped when I heard him say this during a visit from His Royal Majesty, Igwe Christian Obinna Ozor, the traditional ruler of Ikenga Umulumgbe Kingdom. The Igwe popped by for a courtesy call on Wednesday, and let’s say it wasn’t your typical “handshake-and-tea” kind of meeting. Big things were discussed.

Dr. Mupwaya, clearly hyped about the future, emphasized how building strong relationships between electricity providers, customers, and local communities can light up the whole state—literally and figuratively.

Here’s what he had to say:
“We’re all about collaboration. Teamwork is the secret sauce to making 24-hour power supply a reality in Enugu. And yes, we need everyone on board: customers, community leaders, and stakeholders—to protect electricity assets from those pesky vandals.”

Let’s be honest: no one wants a transformer to get trashed.

He didn’t stop there. Dr. Mupwaya also reassured us about MEDL’s commitment to improving service delivery across Enugu. So, whether binge-watching your favorite series or grinding on your side hustle, reliable power is on the way.

Speaking of collaboration, Igwe Ozor came through with a solid proposal. He offered to set up an MEDL office in his community. How cool is that? This would mean less stress for his people, as they can pay bills or sort out electricity-related issues without travelling miles. Talk about a win-win!

This is precisely the kind of energy (pun intended) we need to make things happen. Communities are stepping up, electricity providers are levelling up, and everyone is working together.

So, Enugu peeps, the future is looking bright, literally. With teamwork and the right attitude, a 24-hour power supply isn’t just a possibility; it’s within reach.
